These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Ruan Law website at ruanlawthx.info and the engagement of legal services provided by Ruan Law. Please read them carefully. By using this website or enquiring about our services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Definitions
- "Service" — the legal services offered by Ruan Law as described on this website.
- "User" / "You" — any person who accesses this website or contacts Ruan Law.
- "We" / "Us" / "Our" — Ruan Law, based at 88 Silom Road, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500, Thailand.
- "Content" — all text, information, and materials on this website.
- "Agreement" — the engagement agreement entered into between Ruan Law and a client for specific legal services.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing this website or submitting an enquiry, you confirm that you are aged 18 or over and have the legal capacity to enter into an agreement. Use of this website without meeting these conditions is not permitted.
3. Services Provided
Ruan Law provides family law services in Thailand, currently comprising:
- Family Consultation & Guidance (฿4,600 per session)
- Mediation & Agreement Support (฿9,500 per matter)
- Full Family Matter Representation (฿18,000 per matter)
Services are available to clients physically present in Thailand or where Thai family law applies to their matter. Geographic restrictions may apply to certain aspects of representation.
4. Engagement of Services
An engagement is formed when both parties have signed an engagement letter or equivalent written confirmation. Enquiries and consultations do not constitute an engagement. Where an engagement is formed:
- The scope, fees, and terms will be confirmed in writing before work commences.
- Additional work beyond the agreed scope will be discussed and confirmed in advance.
- Each engagement is personal to the named client and may not be transferred.
5. User Responsibilities
When using this website or engaging our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information in all communications.
- Not use this website for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.
- Not attempt to access systems or data beyond your authorised scope.
- Not post or transmit harmful, offensive, or misleading content.
- Notify us promptly of any material changes to information you have provided.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, design, layout, and materials — is the intellectual property of Ruan Law. You may access and use this content for personal, non-commercial reference only. Reproduction, redistribution, or commercial use without written permission is not permitted.
Documents prepared for you in connection with a legal engagement remain the intellectual property of Ruan Law until fees are settled in full.
7. Fees and Payment
All fees are quoted in Thai Baht (THB). Payment terms are confirmed at the time of engagement. We accept payment by bank transfer or other methods confirmed in writing. Fees for consultations are payable prior to or at the time of the session. For ongoing matters, a deposit may be required before work commences.
Refunds are not available for completed consultations. For ongoing matters, fees for work already completed are not refundable. If an engagement is terminated early by either party, fees will be due for work completed to date.
8. Professional Conduct and Standards
Ruan Law practitioners hold current licences from the Lawyers Council of Thailand and are bound by its professional conduct rules. Our legal advice is governed by Thai law. This website does not constitute legal advice; formal advice is given only within an engagement.
9. Confidentiality
We maintain strict confidentiality over all client information in accordance with Thai professional conduct obligations. Details of your matter will not be disclosed without your consent except where required by law. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers
The content on this website is provided for general information only. It does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as such. Every legal matter is fact-specific; outcomes cannot be stated in advance and are not implied by the information on this site.
We do not warrant that this website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses. We accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of the website.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Thai law, Ruan Law's liability in connection with services provided is limited to the fees paid for the relevant engagement. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses arising from our services or from use of this website.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Ruan Law against claims, losses, and costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of this website, or any information you provide that is inaccurate or misleading.
13. Termination
Either party may terminate an engagement by written notice. We reserve the right to decline or discontinue services where required by professional conduct obligations, conflict of interest, or non-payment. On termination, your right to access case materials may be subject to the resolution of any outstanding fees.
14. Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute arising from them will first be subject to good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes will be referred to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts, specifically those in Bangkok.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. The revised date will be displayed at the top of this page. Continued use of our website or services following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
